BC Unveils 'Beat Cancer' T-Shirt in Support of Herzlich In honor of linebacker Mark Herzlich, who is currently battling Ewing's sarcoma, Boston College has unveiled a "Beat Cancer" T-shirt featuring Baldwin, the school's mascot, wearing the face paint Herzlich became famous for during his time with the football team.

BC partnered with Banner '47, a local apparel company and licensee of BC, to create the shirt. The university will donate $5 from the sale of every shirt to the American Cancer Society in support of Ewing's sarcoma research.

Herzlich, who was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year in 2008, will miss the entire 2009 season as he undergoes treatment. The school encourages all students and fans to wear the shirt (or a different gold shirt) when BC takes on Florida St. on Oct. 3 in a show of support for Herzlich and all others battling cancer.

You can purchase the shirt for $20 at bceagles.com. It will also be available at the BC Bookstore and at the Alumni Stadium souvenir stands on game days.
