Saturday, the Toronto Maple Leafs fueled speculation that they were back in the hunt for restricted free agent Phil Kessel by re-acquiring their second-round draft pick from the Blackhawks. That move puts the Leafs in position to make an offer for Kessel, but according to a new report, that may not be enough.

The Bruins have informed Toronto GM Brian Burke that they're willing to match an offer placed on the winger, according to Darren Dreger's Twitter page.

Kessel has been the main story line for the Bruins throughout the offseason, after the B's quickly signed David Krejci to an extension shortly after the playoffs ended. Kessel, who turns 22 on Oct. 7, led the Bruins in goals last year with 36.

The Leafs reportedly worked on a trade with the Bruins at the NHL draft, which would have sent defenseman Tomas Kaberle to Boston in exchange for Kessel.
