Rex Ryan Benches Receiver For Inappropriate Tweet
Rex Ryan isn't messing around.

The outspoken, unabashed first-year Jets coach proved as much when he benched wide receiver David Clowney against the Titans for tweeting about a lack of playing time.

Clowney — who played in just two games as a rookie in 2008 and garnered one reception for 26 yards — was unhappy with the action he saw in last week's 16-9 win over New England and tweeted: "1 play in the 1st Half, 4 plays in the 2nd half…A bit disappointed about my playing time but very happy and satisfied about the win."

It seems pretty innocuous, especially considering the absurd and frequently antagonistic tweets of other NFL wideouts (T.O. and Ochocinco, that means you). But it was too much for Ryan, who would've preferred Clowney be satisfied about the win and forget the rest.

"If I feel a guy is not putting the team first," Ryan told ESPN.com on Monday, "I'll make that decision to put the guy down."

Why is it taking so long for head coaches to ban Twitter usage completely?
