Bruins Ink Milan Lucic to Three-Year Extension The Bruins have signed forward Milan Lucic to a three-year extension through 2012-13, Boston general manager Peter Chiarelli announced on Tuesday afternoon.

ESPN.com is reporting that the deal is worth $12.25 million over three
years. Lucic will earn $4 million in each of the next two years and
$4.25 million in 2012-13.

Lucic and Chiarelli will hold a news conference immediately following practice on Wednesday, Oct. 7, to make a formal announcement.

The 21-year-old set career highs in all major statistical categories last year after recording 17 goals and 25 assists for 42 points. He also tallied 136 penalty minutes, a plus-17 rating, and he recorded his first career hat trick on Oct. 25, 2008.

As a rookie in 2007-08, Lucic registered eight goals and 19 assists for 27 points with 89 penalty minutes. That year, he earned the Seventh Player Award, voted on by the fans and given to the Bruin who performs above and beyond expectations.

Thus far in 2009-10, Lucic has registered one assist and five penalty minutes in two games.

The Bruins selected Lucic with the 50th overall pick in the 2006 NHL draft.
