Ravens Won't Be Fined For Roughing Calls Versus Patriots The Ravens have done plenty of complaining in the aftermath of their 27-21 loss to New England on Sunday. They complained about being flagged for two critical roughing-the-passer penalties, and after that, they complained about the competence of the referees.

The Ravens weren't fined for their criticisms of the officials, and now, they won't be fined for the roughing calls themselves, either. The Baltimore Sun reports that Haloti Ngata, who hit Tom Brady's helmet trying to bat a pass, and Terrell Suggs, who brushed Brady's legs, won't have any extra chunks taken out of their paychecks.

Many Ravens players — particularly Ed Reed and Ray Lewis — plus head coach John Harbaugh claimed that Brady received preferential treatment from the officials after suffering a season-ending knee injury on a Bernard Pollard hit in 2008.

Brady, however, had other things on his mind. He was happy to draw the roughing calls and made no qualms about admitting it.

"I want the penalty call," he said during Wednesday's press conference. "I want 15 yards. I don't care whether they hit me or not, that's an advantage for our offense."

Brady also admitted that cozying up to the refs never hurts anybody.

"I think you just want to make sure the refs … I go hug the ref before the game, ask about his kids and stuff like that," he said. "I'm trying to get him on our side."
