Bruins Are Far From Living Up To Preseason Hype
The Bruins have been all but forgotten by the rest of the league through the first month of the season thanks to a depressing 6-6-1 record through their first 13 games and a pair of crucial injuries to their front line of attack.
While such low expectations have been standard for the first month of the majority of the previous Bruins seasons since the mid-1990's, this year was very different. Not only was Boston pegged to be a top-tier team, they were picked by many to go further than last year's second-round exit in the postseason with the return of the league's top coach (Claude Julien), top defender (Zdeno Chara) and top goaltender (Tim Thomas).
With all the confidence and hype swirling around the Hub this summer, it appears that the Bruins forgot how they got so successful last season.
