Lakers' Pau Gasol's Hamstring Improving The news on Pau Gasol‘s hamstring seems to change every day. On Tuesday, Gasol was facing a potential tear and needed a sonogram and an MRI. On Wednesday, though, the news appeared to be better for the Lakers, as Gasol is apparently nearing a return, according to The Los Angeles Times.

According to the report, Gasol’s medical tests were sent to Spain, where his parents are both in the medical field. Whether or not he needs a note from his parents before returning to the court is undetermined as of yet, but it appears that Gasol is suffering from a strain and not a tear.

The 29-year-old big man missed all of the preseason and the first four regular-season games. He had a “pretty good workout” on Tuesday, Phil Jackson told the newspaper, and he could play as soon as Friday against his former team, the Memphis Grizzlies.
