A lot of kids don't like to read — but when they're doing it with the Celtics, it's a different story.
As part of the Celtics' Read to Achieve program, presented by Kia Motors, Rajon Rondo, J.R. Giddens and Bill Walker will read with children from the Franklin Park Tenants Association and will play with exotic animals from Curious Creatures on Tuesday, Nov. 10.
The event will take place at the State Room at 60 State Street in Boston.
The players will read animal-themed books to 20-30 children and discuss the importance of reading in their lives. Hopefully the players aren't scared of wild animals, because they will also be playing with a baby alligator, a flying squirrel, a bearded dragon and other exotic creatures.
Read to Achieve is an NBA program designed to promote the value of reading and to build a lifelong love of reading in young people by providing greater access to books.
The Celtics' division is supported locally by Kia Motors and ReadBoston.
