Red Sox Announce Ticket Prices for 2010

We are another step closer to the 2010 Red Sox season, and with that comes news about ticket prices.

After all ticket prices were frozen in 2009, two-thirds of prices will remain at the 2009 levels or will increase by $2 for the upcoming season. No single price category will increase by more than $5, and in 2010, 63 percent of all tickets will cost $52 or less. The lowest ticket price will remain $12.

For 2010 spring training games in Ft. Myers, all tickets will cost the same amount they did in 2009. This is the fourth time in the last five years spring training ticket prices haven't changed.

The areas in which prices will increase by $2 are the infield grandstand, the right field box, the right field roof box and the lower bleachers.

The areas in which prices will increase by $5 are the field boxes, loge boxes, Green Monster and Green Monster standing room.

Red Sox president and CEO Larry Lucchino said that Boston's average 3.8 percent increase is the second-lowest average price increase over the past 15 seasons, with the exception of 2009.

“We are fortunate that Red Sox Nation invests in this team year after year, and we will remain true to our fundamental pledge to field a team worthy of the fans’ support by investing each year in a formidable roster of uniformed personnel at both the major and minor league levels,” said Lucchino.  “We will also continue to be among the most active and aggressive teams in Major League Baseball in both the amateur draft and international player signings.”

Fans will get their first opportunity to purchase tickets on Saturday, Dec. 12 at the annual Christmas at Fenway celebration.
