Celtics to Dedicate Concourse to Red Auerbach The Celtics and the TD Garden will dedicate the Arnold "Red" Auerbach North Station Concourse in a special ceremony Friday to honor the legendary Celtics coach.

Mike Gorman and Tommy Heinsohn, the Celtics broadcast team on Comcast SportsNet, will emcee the dedication, which will begin at 2 p.m. on the North Station concourse.

Other guests will include the late Auerbach's daughter, Nancy Auerbach Collins, Celtics co-owner Stephen Pagliuca and team president Rich Gotham. Mayor Thomas Menino and former Celtics Dana Barros, Mal Graham, Satch Sanders and JoJo White will be on hand as well.

As coach of the Celtics from 1950 to 1966, Auerbach won nine NBA titles, a feat surpassed only by Phil Jackson, and 938 games, a record at the time of his retirement. Auerbach won six more titles as Boston's general manager and another as team president.

The North Station concourse won't be the first thing named after Auerbach. The Red Auerbach Trophy is awarded annually to the NBA's coach of the year and the Arnold "Red" Auerbach Award is given annually to the current Celtic who "best exemplifies the spirit of what it means to be a Celtic."
