Have photos of the Red Sox capturing their first World Series title in 86 years? If so, Ken Burns needs your help.

Burns is asking Red Sox fans to send their photos from the Red Sox 2004 championship season via e-mail for possible inclusion in the upcoming sequel to his 1994 PBS documentary Baseball.

"Baseball is a precise mirror of who we are, and I can’t recall a time that was more evident, particularly considering the deep emotional, communal, and personal impact, than during the 2004 ALCS when the Red Sox overcame the Yankees," Burns told The Boston Globe.

Burns is in the process of editing the film in New York. The documentary filmmaker knows what he wants from fans.

"Anything that illuminates the feeling and moment of what that was like for those who truly lived for this team, those snapshots and memories, we hope they will generously share them with us," Burns told the Globe. "The story can’t be fully told without them."

The Red Sox’ 2004 championship season is not the only focus of the documentary. The film also focuses on all baseball from 1994 to 2008.

"It was an incredibly fertile time for change, and there was just a remarkable number of fascinating events that took place and personalities that emerged or faltered, or in some cases both, in what was a relatively brief time," Burns told the Globe.

The four-hour documentary will air in October over a two-night span.

Red Sox fans can e-mail their photos to photos@florentinefilms.com for possible inclusion in the film.
