When a few Flyers and Penguins got together for a scrum on Sunday, there were a number of things disrespected. Among them: mouthpieces.

According to Flyers forward Arron Asham, Penguins forward Matt Cooke tried to take a bite out of his opponent. The Flyers Files blog on CourierPostOnline.com has Asham's full postgame comments, highlighted by some choice accusations.

"There was a scrum," Asham said. "I grabbed [Cooke]. There were two guys on [Scott Hartnell] and my glove got tangled in [Cooke's] mouth and he bit me, so I lost it. It’s not bad, but he’s a gutless guy. I have no respect for him at all. I lined up against him and asked him to fight and he didn’t want to. If you go and bite someone … I just have no use for him. … He’s garbage to me and I have no respect for him at all."

This isn't the first Bitegate controversy between the two teams. Last October, Hartnell appeared to bite Kris Letang in a similar scrum along the boards. The NHL reviewed the incident and found no clear evidence that Hartnell bit Letang, so no punishment was dished out.
