Knicks forward/center David Lee may get the chance to play with NBA All-Stars after all.

According to the New York Daily News, Lee has been invited to train with USA Basketball this summer, less than two weeks after he was an All-Star snub. The 26-year-old also has the opportunity to make the national team that will play at the World Championships in Turkey in August.

USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo contacted Lee to participate in USA Basketball’s mini-camps. Colangelo hopes All-Stars LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and Kevin Durant will play this summer as well.

Lee has had an All-Star-caliber season with the Knicks, averaging a career-best 19.7 points per game. His improved game has given the Knicks a shot to make the playoffs.

"I can always get better at what I'm doing, and our team definitely needs to get more wins whether I make the All-Star Game or not," Lee told USA Today. "That's been my goal from the start of the season, to do my part to get us back to the playoffs. Hopefully, we can make a little run here and get back in the picture."

Lee wasn't an All-Star this year, but he may become a member of America's team — and that could be an even bigger honor.
