Mark Sanchez works hard as the Jets’ star quarterback. Rihanna works “hard” as a pop star.

According to The Associated Press, both have earned money for different charities during Super Bowl week.

Sanchez and Rihanna participated in Pepsi’s Refresh Project in Miami to raise money for each of their respective charities.

Rihanna attended the event to raise money for DKMS, the world’s largest bone marrow center. The 21-year-old singer thinks the money would have a tremendous impact.

“This would really help us recruit 4,000 individual donors,” Rihanna told the AP.

The Jets’ quarterback has received $25,000 to go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to help spread awareness of the signs of Type 1 diabetes.

Sanchez is happy to be a part charity event at this year’s Super Bowl but would rather be playing in the game..

“You know it's hard. The loss [to Colts in AFC Championship Game] stings a little bit, but at the same time we really have something to build on as a team,” Sanchez told the AP. “You know Rex [Ryan], our coach, challenged at the end of the year, and said, we've gotta get two quarters better. Two quarters better, and we might be playing in Dallas [site of the 2011 Super Bowl] next year.”
