Rajon Rondo Wants to Play for Team USA Rajon Rondo wants to be more than an All-Star. According to The Boston Globe, Rondo never received an invitation to the 2010-12 USA men’s basketball team, a miscommunication between him and Team USA managing director Jerry Colangelo.

"I haven't spoken to anyone from USA Basketball," Rondo told the Globe. "No one's talked to my agent. I talked to my agent … and he said the same thing. He thought I said something to the media or to someone about declining to play. But I haven't heard anything this year about USA Basketball."

Colangelo heard otherwise.

"There may have been a little miscommunication on that one," Colangelo told the Globe. "I was advised that he would not have interest, but that may have been misinformation."

Rondo's involvement in Kendrick Perkins' wedding prevented the first-time All-Star from participating in last year’s workouts. The point guard wants to play with the USA men's basketball team this time around.

"It would be an honor to play," Rondo told the Globe. "I would go."
