Spring training is just around the corner, and that means the Red Sox equipment truck is loading up for the 1,480-mile trek to the team’s facility in Ft. Myers, Fla.

“Truck Day” is scheduled to take place Friday, Feb. 12, at 12:00 p.m. at Fenway Park. As the equipment truck departs Fenway, it will be escorted out by a flatbed rig carrying Wally the Green Monster and the Fenway ambassadors, who will toss soft Red Sox baseballs to fans on Van Ness Street, adjacent to Gate D.

Fans can also see Wally the Green Monster and JetBlue Airways — the official airline of the Red Sox — from 11:00 a.m. until noon at the Yawkey Way Store. Those in attendance will have a chance to win a round-trip flight on JetBlue, a trip to spring training in Ft. Myers or other great prizes.

Red Sox pitchers and catchers report to camp on Feb. 18, and the first full-team workouts will take place Feb. 24.

As usual, the Red Sox will begin their exhibition season with a doubleheader against Boston-area colleges on Wednesday, March 3, facing Northeastern (1:05 p.m.) and Boston College (6 p.m., on NESN).
