Tuukka Rask missed his first start in the last eight Bruins games on Thursday night due to a knee injury suffered in Boston's 4-1 loss to the Canadiens on Tuesday night.

Rask is considered day-to-day and, for the time being, will be taking a backseat to last season's Vezina Trophy winner Tim Thomas, who earned the win over Toronto on Thursday night.

Rask is 14-8-4 with a league-leading 2.15 GAA and a fourth-best .926 save percentage. The B's take on the Islanders on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Long Island.
