FOXBORO, Mass. Leigh Bodden’s Thanksgiving Day memories involve a lot of turkey. And that time in 2008 when the Titans kicked the stuffing out of his Lions.

Now that reports indicate the Patriots will be in Detroit for next season’s Thanksgiving game, Bodden realized he can shake some of those nasty flashbacks.

“It would be good to play on Thanksgiving,” Bodden said Wednesday, while standing on the newly groomed Gillette Stadium field. “Growing up as a kid, you watched that game, and you want to play on Thanksgiving. I got to do it, but it wasn’t that great in Detroit. Hopefully, if we play them this Thanksgiving, I can be on the winning end of that Thanksgiving game.”

Bodden had five tackles and broke up two passes in his lone Thanksgiving appearance with the Lions, who were on the wrong end of the Titans’ 47-10 feast. It was one of Detroit’s record-setting 16 losses in 2008.

“They blew us out,” said Bodden, who paused to annunciate every word. “I always wanted to play [on Thanksgiving]. I got a chance to do it, but unfortunately didn’t win.”
