Red Sox to Begin Exhibition Schedule With Wednesday Doubleheader

The Red Sox will play two college exhibitions on Wednesday in a day-night doubleheader to kick off this year's spring training schedule in Fort Myers, Fla.

Boston will play the Northeastern University Huskies at 1:05 p.m at City of Palms Park in a matchup that will feature Casey Kelly facing off against Northeastern right-hander Les Williams. Jacoby Ellsbury, Victor Martinez and David Ortiz are among the Red Sox expected to play against the Huskies.

Jerry Remy and Don Orsillo will make their spring training debuts on NESN in Wednesday's nightcap, which features a matchup against the Boston College Eagles beginning at 6:05 p.m. Boof Bonser will make his first Red Sox appearance against BC pitcher Geoff Oxley. In addition, the game will include the Red Sox debuts of Adrian Beltre, Marco Scutaro and Jeremy Hermida.

The Red Sox will begin Grapefruit League action against the Minnesota Twins on Thursday as the team's battle for this year's Mayor's Cup. Boston and Minnesota will play three exhibition games this week.
