Three Boston College student-athletes have been selected for the ACC's Weaver-James-Corrigan Scholarships.

The league announced on Tuesday that Steve Aponavicius (football), Kelly Henderson (soccer) and Tim Ritchie (track and field) will be the recipients of the scholarship, awarded to three students per league institution in order to help them pursue postgraduate degrees. Each recipient will receive $5,000.

Aponavicius was selected to the ACC All-Academic team four times and finished his career as BC's all-time leading scorer. He graduated in 2009 and spent his final season of eligibility working toward an MBA.

Henderson, who registered 31 points during her BC career, graduated from the Lynch School of Education and plans to pursue a graduate education at Columbia's Teachers College.

Ritchie, who graduated last May with degrees in biology and theology, was a three-sport athlete at BC, competing in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track and field. He will pursue a Master's degree in theology or pastoral ministry at BC.

All three athletes will be honored during a luncheon on April 14 in Greensboro, N.C.
