Before you buy Celtics playoff tickets — beware.

The Celtics announced on Thursday that the organization has received numerous reports of counterfeit playoff tickets being sold to fans in the Boston area.

If you plan on buying tickets to the playoff series between Orlando and Boston — Games 3 and 4 will be held at the TD Garden on Saturday and Monday, respectively — avoid purchasing tickets through any unauthorized seller. Authorized sellers include Celtics.com, Ticketmaster.com, over the phone at 800-4-NBA-TIX, in person at the TD Garden Box Office, any Ticketmaster outlet or via Ticketmaster's TicketExchange program online.

Be aware that tickets purchased through other outlets cannot be validated and may be counterfeit.

Also be aware that patrons attempting to use fraudulent tickets will be evicted from the building and could be subject to arrest.

You can report  any suspicious ticket activity to the Boston Police, or by calling 911.
