Philadelphia fans have nothing on supporters of Turkey’s Fenerbahce soccer club.

According to the Daily Mail, angry fans torched their own stadium after a final game draw with Trabzonspor awarded the Turkish League title to their hated rival, Bursaspor.

Fans in the upper decks of Istanbul’s Sukru Saracoglu Stadium started bonfires in their seats that began to spread, which forced fire crews to enter the stadium and quickly extinguish the blaze.

Riot squads, both inside and outside the stadium, faced off with rowdy fans who were throwing bottles, rocks and anything else they could find. Riot police later dispersed the crowd with a water cannon.

While the act is definitely a step above keying an opposing team’s beat writer’s car, as Flyers fans did to veteran Montreal writer Pat Hickey, the Turks lose some points for torching their own stadium. Soccer riots are also a bit overplayed across the pond, so they won’t be getting any points for originality.

The Turks do get an A for effort, though.
