President Obama is used to making controversial decisions.

On Friday at Nationals Park, he stood strong in the face of 40,000 fans. Or perhaps better put, sat strong?

On hand to watch Stephen Strasburg make his third career start, Obama refused to budge as the rest of the stadium participated in "The Wave."

The president elected to remain seated while the wave passed by, a move that could bolster his approval rating among diehard sports traditionalists.

While the president declined to partake, his oldest daughter Malia seemed more than happy to pick up the slack.

One photographer snapped a picture of the president, who looked to be less-than-thrilled to be engulfed by flailing arms, Power Line reports.
