The Subject of YouTube Raps, David Ortiz Slugs Back to Prominence

Based on his performance in April, David Ortiz was singing the blues. But now he has a rap.

After a rough opening month when he had just one home run, four RBIs and a .143 average, Ortiz has turned things around in a big way, sparking a revival of Big Papi-inspired YouTube videos, such as the one below.

The slugger’s performance in May (.363, 10 homers, 27 RBIs) has put Ortiz back to where many expected — and the Red Sox needed — him to be in 2010. He is tied for seventh in the AL in home runs with 12, renewing his place among the league’s elite long ballers.

Once again, no one is asking where the real Big Papi is.
