The Patriots announced on Tuesday that defensive lineman Ty Warren will be in Foxboro on Wednesday for a charity event. However, one source indicated Warren did not practice during Tuesday's voluntary organized team activity, but it is believed he'll attend his first offseason practice when the Patriots hit the field on Thursday at Gillette Stadium.
Warren has spent the offseason finishing his degree at Texas A&M, and he hasn’t reported for any of the team's voluntary sessions as a result. The seven-year veteran, who has always been as professional as they come, will speak on Wednesday at Ahern Middle School as part of the Patriots' "Read Between the Lines" program that promotes summer reading.
New England offensive linemen Stephen Neal and Sebastian Vollmer and defensive lineman Damione Lewis will also attend the event. The Patriots don't have practice on Wednesday, but they'll conclude their last two voluntary OTAs on Thursday and Friday. The team's mandatory minicamp runs June 15-17.
Patriots rookie wide receiver Taylor Price is also expected to participate in his first OTA on Thursday. Per NFL rules, Price can’t attend any of these offseason workouts until Ohio graduated its senior class, and the commencement occurs Wednesday.
If Warren attends Thursday's practice, that will leave left guard Logan Mankins (contract dispute) as the only veteran who has remained consistently unaccounted for during OTAs.
