Jimmy Johnson Going From NFL on Fox to 'Survivor: Nicaragua' This Fall The Dallas Cowboys and reality television go together like Budweiser and rodeos.

And the marriage is going to continue during the upcoming football season, as former Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson reportedly will be joining the cast of Survivor: Nicaragua this fall.

That’s right, the 67-year-old Fox NFL analyst will be crossing over to CBS to carry on the Cowboy-turned-reality TV star tradition, which former Cowboys quarterback Gary Hogeboom started when he appeared on the 2005 edition of Survivor, Survivor: Guatemala, and finished in seventh place.

Cowboy greats and NFL Hall of Famers Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin are best known for making the tradition, as the two exchanged their spikes for dance shoes after their careers ended and appeared on Dancing With The Stars in separate seasons.

Smith actually won his contest in 2006, when he and Cheryl Burke took the Dancing With the Stars crown in Season 3.

I wonder if there’s Heineken, fruity umbrella drinks and karaoke in Nicaragua?

Quote of the day

“I remember back in my days, I’d rather play against Earvin Johnson than play with him. He’s a guy I always compared myself to. I’d rather stay in Boston and let him stay in L.A. and just compete every year in the Finals. That’s what made me a better player. It would have been too easy if we had played together.”
— Celtics legend Larry Bird, in response to LeBron James joining Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami

Free shout out in Thursday’s Daily Blend if any geometry major out there can fill us in as to what shape the infield would transform to with this rule change?

Baseball needs to move 1st base closer to home… say 45 feet like
softball and Little League so Ortiz can make it to 1st on one of his “I
have to hit it through the shift” weak ground balls or pop-ups he
doesn’t seem to want to run out.”

Is it me, or are stunts getting easier these days? I mean anyone can get run over by a truck on their bike, right? I’m guessing only very few can do it this quickly.
