Should Red Sox Try to Reacquire A's Outfielder Coco Crisp? If you've been watching the 2010 Red Sox, you'll agree that this team can never have too much of anything based on the abundance of injuries suffered in the first four months of the season.

So whether or not the Sox get their original outfield intact by Aug. 1, do you think the club needs to add another outfielder?

The Sox have experienced setbacks in nearly every department, but most notably in the outfield and on the mound. While pitchers Clay Buchholz (Wednesday) and Josh Beckett (Friday) are due back soon, the outfield is still missing its left fielder, Jacoby Ellsbury, who is rehabbing a broken rib with the club's Gulf Coast League affiliate.

While Ellsbury is slated to return somewhat soon, it's unsure as to how well he'll bounce back or if he'll ever be his normal self. Should the Red Sox see a hitch in his performance, the club may look into seeking a rental outfielder for the stretch run. And with the Sox taking on the A's beginning Monday, they will have a first-hand look at their former center fielder, Coco Crisp.

Crisp, who has made two different stops on the DL himself this season, would fill in nicely for Ellsbury both in left and at the top of the order, should Ellsbury take longer than expected. Even if Ellsbury does come back at full speed, the speedy and aggressive Crisp would be a valuable asset off the bench and can fill in for the aging and banged-up Mike Cameron as the team nears October.

Although he's struggled in the month of July, Crisp has 17 runs scored, 17 RBIs and seven stolen bases in just 83 at bats. From 2006-2008, as a member of the Sox, Crisp hit .271 with 70 steals, 198 runs scored and 68 doubles.

The spark plug would be a welcome sight for any team, but do the Sox even need him or should general manager Theo Epstein and the Sox brass target a different position, other than outfield, assuming Ellsbury and Cameron can shoulder the load the rest of the way?

Although call-ups Daniel Nava and Darnell McDonald have proved to be solid subs, and Jeremy Hermida is nearing a return to the big club as well, do you think the Sox could use the services of Coco Crisp?
