The LeBron James healing process in Akron may be beginning.

King James took out a full-page ad in his hometown newspaper, the Akron Beacon Journal, to thank his fans and the community for their influence on his life.

"It was here where I first learned how to play basketball,
and where I met the people who would become my lifelong friends and
mentors," the ad read. "Their guidance, encouragement and support will always be with
me.

"Akron is my home, and the central focus of my life," it continued. "It's
where I started, and it's where I will always come back to. You can be
sure that I will continue to do everything I can for this city, which is
so important to my family and me. Thank you for your love and support.
You mean everything to me."

James also recently has stated that he will continue to be involved in Akron's Bike-a-Thon fundraiser, and he still makes his home in the city.

Still, an ad agency did buy an James-hating billboard two miles from his house this past week. Not all is forgiven.

Perhaps what is most noticeable about this "decision" of James' is that his ad was meant for Akron, not for Cleveland. Zydrunas Ilgauskas, upon joining James in Miami, did publish a thank-you ad to Cleveland in the Plain Dealer.
