Procter and Gamble Insures Troy Polamalu's Hair for $1 Million One of the most important rules of business is to protect your assets. And consumer goods company Procter and Gamble is doing just that.

Among Procter and Gamble's millions of product lines is the hair care company, Head and Shoulders, which uses Steelers safety Troy Polamalu as its spokesperson. Procter and Gamble has taken the next step with Polamalu's sponsorship, and has insured his long, wavy locks for $1 million.

"Head and Shoulders has gone above and beyond by insuring my Samoan locks for a cool $1 million dollars," Polamalu said. "This reinforces that my full and thick hair is unstoppable."

Polamalu is a California native, but is of Samoan descent. He wears his hair — which is three feet in length — long to honor his Samoan heritage.

According to ESPN.com, Lloyd's of London provided the insurance for Procter and Gamble, but did not reveal what must be done to Polamalu's hair for anyone to collect on the policy.
