Report: Calvin Pace Could Possibly Return for Week Two

Jets linebacker Calvin Pace was supposed to be out up to six weeks after foot surgery on Monday, but plans may be changing for the better.

Rex Ryan said that his procedure went so well that he could possibly just miss one week of action, reports the New York Post.

"The doctors seem to think the surgery was really successful," Ryan
said. "He's going to definitely miss the first week, but we'll see about
the second week — I'm not sure."

The Jets had been considering bringing in former Patriot Adalius Thomas as a replacement, and Pace's swift return may make such a move unnecessary.

Still, while Thomas will likely not be brought in prior to week one, it is still possible that he could end up in a Jets uniform at some point during the season.

Pace led the team in sacks last season.
