Shaquille O’Neal is apparently as famous in India for his role in Space Jam as he is for his dunks.

One problem: Shaq wasn’t in Space Jam.

Still, when talking to an Indian news reporter about the NBA’s future in the country, he says that the the NBA and India need each other, and that the sport will catch on much like it has in China.

But, perhaps a good thing for all parties involved, he refused to rap for his South Asian fans.

NESN.com will showcase one Moment of Shaq every day until the Celtics open the season against the Heat on Oct. 26 at the TD Garden.

Monday, Aug. 23: Shaq drains a three.
