How Do You Measure Up to Shaquille O'Neal? Calculate Your Shaqtion E-mail. Facebook. YouTube. There are Internet phenomena that forever change the world as we know it.

Shaquille O’Neal has entered that realm.

For those who struggle to estimate another person’s height, have a hard time gauging just what 5-foot-8 means, or can’t for the life of you understand how long a meter is, Shaq has come to the rescue once again.

Now, everything can be measured in a universal Shaqtion.

A Shaqtion takes the height and weight of Shaq — approximately 7-foot-1, 325 pounds — and sets that as the base measurement of 1. Everything is then measured in comparison to Shaq. There is no intangible 12 inches to one foot or 2.54 centimeters to one inch nonsense. Now, life can be interpreted in terms of Shaq.

The Big Diesel has been around long enough that everyone understands just how big the Celtics’ new center is. So, when a friend says, “This kid is big! He is at least 6-foot-3, 270 pounds,” don’t bother trying to comprehend that in inches. Instead, convert it to Shaqtions: That kid is big, but he’s only 0.84 Shaqs.

Thank goodness for Shaq, who, merely by existing, has positively affected society once more.

NESN.com will showcase one Moment of Shaq every day until the Celtics open the season against the Heat on Oct. 26 at the TD Garden.
