Shaquille O'Neal Impressed With Paul Pierce, Ray Allen at First Day of Practice Shaquille O’Neal has seen a thing or two in his 18 seasons and 41,166 minutes on an NBA court, but that doesn’t mean he can’t still be impressed.

O’Neal practiced for the first time as a Celtic on Tuesday, as the team opened its training camp in Newport, R.I. After practice, Shaq was quick to gush about the skills of new teammates Paul Pierce and Ray Allen.

“First day is over,” Shaq wrote on his Twitter page. “The Truth and Ray Allen didn’t miss a shot, daaayum I wish I was a shooter Lol.”

In all that time on an NBA floor, O’Neal has attempted just 22 3-pointers, making just one. While Pierce and Allen might get Shaq to open his eyes in wonder, it will be Doc Rivers‘ job to remind him that he’s 7-foot-1, 325 pounds and should never, ever, ever take a shot unless he can sniff the rim.

NESN.com will showcase one Moment of Shaq every day until the Celtics open the season against the Heat on Oct. 26 at the TD Garden.

Monday, Sept. 27: Shaq says Tim Duncan, not Kobe Bryant, is his natural rival.
