The Fantastic Five. It has a nice ring to it, actually.

That’s what the latest issue of ESPN The Magazine dubbed the Celtics likely starting five of Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Shaquille O’Neal.

ESPN The Magazine teamed up with Marvel Comics for their NBA preview and had the comic book company make comic illustrations for each team. The Celtics got the appropriate moniker of the Fantastic Five in reference to the Marvel-based superhero group “The Fantastic Four.”

As fantastic as the Celtics may be, the ESPN writers still like LeBron James and the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference.
