Controversial Ending for LSU-Tennessee Game Caps Long Day for SEC Officials It looked for a second that the SEC clash between LSU and Tennessee was over.

Everybody thought it was over. After being stopped on third-and-goal from the 1 with no time left on the clock, LSU thought they had lost. Tennessee thought they won.

But then came the flag.

Officials got together and ended up checking the replay before deeming that the Volunteers actually had 13 men on the field. LSU got one more play, and we all know what happened from there. The Tigers scored and they had the win.

LSU was crushed following the fumble that should have lost the game for them. Head coach Les Miles threw his headset to the ground (making it unuseable for the eventual “do-over”) and players threw their helmets to the ground.

One LSU player, Bob Hebert took his helmet off and threw it to the ground — while on the field of play. Officials didn’t see it. It can be seen here, though. It should have probably been a penalty, but it wasn’t called.

The rest, as they say, is history.

— So long, Mike Lowell. The pleasure was all Boston’s to get to know you on and off the field.

Some were not very impressed with the Bruins beating Belfast’s best on Saturday.

“Thats not that impressive???? This Belfast team is a bunch of guys that are a step away from playing in mens league hockey…. They are at the end of the careers…”
