The Denver Broncos were pummeled by the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5, losing the game 31-17, but that is the least of their worries now that five of their defensive players are injured, some facing weeks of recovery time.

There will be five players missing for the Broncos defense for their Week 6 game against the New York Jets. With the way the Jets are playing right now, the Broncos definitely should be worried.

Outside linebacker Robert Ayers broke his foot and is now in a walking boot. He will be out anywhere from eight to twelve weeks.

Along with Ayers, safety Brian Dawkins strained a knee ligament and will be out for two to three weeks.

And if that wasn’t enough to really crush the Broncos’ chance at equaling out their record, cornerback Andre Goodman (leg), safety Darcel McBath (ankle) and linebacker Wesley Woodyard (hamstring) are all out of commission for Sunday’s game against the Jets.

Don Martindale, the defensive coordinator for the Broncos’, has his work cut out for him until these five injured players are healthy.
