LSU Coach Les Miles Eats Grass Off Field As Game-Time Tradition

It’s natural to have a snack during a football game,  but LSU coach Les Miles takes it to another level.

When Miles is coaching a game, he’ll eat the grass off the field.

“I have a little tradition that humbles me as a man, that lets me know that I’m a part of the field and part of the game,” Miles said. “You should have seen some games before this. I can tell you one thing: The grass in Tiger Stadium tastes best.”

While it may be a strange tradition, it’s certainly not the only one in college football — and it’s not much weirder than keeping a tiger on your campus.

Miles’ tradition seems to have worked. LSU came back in the fourth quarter to beat the Crimson Tide 24-21 on Saturday, their latest in a streak of improbable late-game wins.
