Manny Pacquiao-Antonio Margarito Fight First Event to Live Up to Hype in Dallas This Season High expectations. Tons of money invested. Some of the game’s biggest names. All on one of the country’s biggest stages.

It sounds like the expectations levied upon the Dallas Cowboys prior to this season. But the highly anticipated bout between Manny Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito on Saturday night in Dallas was what the Cowboys have struggled to do all season — live up to expectations and hype.

Not only did the bout, which Pacquiao won convincingly, live up to the hype, it surpassed it as one of the better fights in recent memory.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones recently fired his head coach Wade Phillips, but at least Jones was able to get his hands on some kind of hardware this season.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“He [Floyd Mayweather, Jr.] has got to do something. After this great performance by Manny, Mayweather just has to put up or shut up now and move out of the country. Let’s face it. Manny’s way above him at this point because I remember when he [Mayweather] was ducking Margarito and he wouldn’t fight him either. If he doesn’t fight Manny now, we know this guy should retire.”

COMMENT OF THE DAY

Taking notes, Coach Belichick?

“Why is F. Taylor taking up a roster spot, this guy has been a waste of time. BB needs to draft a real running back and DON’T TRADE DOWN!!!!”
