Yet another helmet-to-helmet fine was levied on Monday – when will the NFL learn?

The league was quick to announce the fine for the hit Green Bay Packers safety Nick Collins laid on Dallas Cowboys receiver Roy Williams that took place during Sunday night’s game at Lambeau Field.

Collins has been slapped with a $50,000 fine for hitting the defenseless wide receiver. The video below shows Williams attempting to catch a pass from Jon Kitna, failing to bring the ball down and then getting hit by Collins in the back of the head.

The video proves that Collins went in for the hit head-first, a rookie mistake from the six-year veteran.

This hit is exactly the type of hit that the NFL has been making a fuss about this season. The only thing that can be done by the NFL is to give out fines and suspensions for these illegal hits.
