Tom Brady Returns to Practice, May Have Played With Injury in Cleveland

FOXBORO, Mass. — Patriots quarterback Tom Brady returned to practice Thursday, but he was definitely paying close attention to his injured foot.

Brady, who missed his first practice of the season Wednesday, went through stretching and positional drills before joining a team huddle. While walking in the direction of the huddle — which was led by running back Eric Kettani, who is on the Patriots' reserve/military list while serving the United States Navy — Brady was staring down at his foot and stretching it out.

Brady appeared hobbled at his locker after practice last Friday, so it's a possibility he may have played with the foot injury in Cleveland, where he had his lowest completion percentage (52.8) since last season's Week 15 victory in Buffalo.

Running back Fred Taylor practiced for the second consecutive day after missing more than six weeks of practices with a left toe injury, but safety Jarrad Page (left calf) and defensive lineman Myron Pryor (back) were absent.

Safety Patrick Chung was at practice yet again. Chung, who was limited Wednesday with a knee injury, spoke to the media Thursday, and that’s a very strong sign he'll be available to play Sunday against the Steelers. Chung repeatedly denied interview requests over the last two weeks, per the team's policy that injured players don’t speak to the media.
