In Week 2 against the Patriots, Braylon Edwards caught some big passes against Darius Butler and responded by doing the Dougie. In Week 13, after his Jets lost 45-3 in New England, Edwards accused the Pats of running up the score.
The up-and-down emotions of Edwards now have the wide receiver feeling as confident as ever.
"I'm not going to lie — I remember what happened," he told the New York Post, regarding the last meeting between the Jets and Pats. "But at the end of the day, I know we're better than them."
The statement, which Edwards made just moments after the dramatic victory over the Colts on Saturday night, falls right in line with the boastfulness of the Jets that's been their style all season long. And Edwards had reason to thump his chest after coming through with perhaps the catch of the season, an 18-yard gain along the right sideline that put the Jets in field-goal range in the final minute. It was just one of Edwards' team-leading four receptions for a team-leading 62 yards.
Unsurprisingly, he wasn't the only Jet feeling rather strong on Saturday night.
"We've been wanting the Patriots for a while now," Dustin Keller told the Post. "It's our chance to get back [at them]. They gave us a bad beating the last time we played them, but we're not that same team anymore."
Since that 45-3 loss, the Jets are 3-2, outscoring opponents 117-88.
