Glen Davis Likely Getting Last Start Against Bobcats As Kevin Garnett Edges Closer to Return

It's been an enjoyable run of eight games for Glen Davis — he's getting introduced with the Celtics' starting lineup, he's playing tons of minutes, and he's attempting more shots than anyone. If only every two-week stint could be this fun.

But, it's likely coming to an end Friday. With Kevin Garnett on the mend from a lower-leg injury and nearing a return to the C's next week, Friday night's contest against the Charlotte Bobcats is likely the last start for a long while for Big Baby.

This could also be a key contest for Luke Harangody off the C's bench — with KG making a comeback, Baby will be relegated to backup duty and Harangody might find himself out of a job, so to speak. This is the rookie's chance to prove he still deserves some minutes.

The C's will be really shorthanded up front, with O'Neal and Garnett out, and Semih Erden still a game-time decision with a groin injury. They'll again be forced to go small to win this one.

Here's what's on tap for C's-Bobcats:

Celtics
Rajon Rondo, PG
Ray Allen, SG
Paul Pierce, SF
Glen Davis, PF
Shaquille O'Neal, C

Bobcats
D.J. Augustin, PG
Stephen Jackson, SG
Gerald Wallace, SF
Boris Diaw, PF
Kwame Brown, C
