Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie's latest trash talking isn't quite as personal as his verbal assault on Patriots quarterback Tom Brady last week, but it will surely catch the attention of Hines Ward and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

ProFootballTalk.com has a rundown of all of the Jets' trash-talking ways that have picked up late in the week leading up to their AFC Championship showdown on Sunday with the Steelers. Gang Green, particularly the defensive unit, have singled out Ward for his allegedly dirty style of play.

"Our guys I think called him the toughest guy in the league when nobody's looking," Jets defensive coordinator Mike Pettine said of Ward on Thursday getting the talking going.

Not wanting to feel left out, Cromartie and a few other members of the Jets' defensive unit jumped in with their thoughts on the veteran wideout. Cromartie has certainly cleaned up his language a week later, but it's no surprise as to where he stands in regards to Ward.

"I know for a fact that he will hit you while you’re not looking," Cromartie said on Friday. "I don’t think he’s man enough to hit you while you’re looking at him."

What happens if Ward reverts to his questionable blocking techniques on Sunday? Jets safety Eric Smith has that part already figured out.

"If I finish what I said and then do what I planned on doing, I’m going to get fined."
