Kevin Garnett Uses Chinese Sneaker Sponsor to Blog About Rehab Status, Play of Celtics The Celtic’s Kevin Garnett may not want to talk to the local media about his injuries but he speaks openly about them on his obscure Chinese blog.

The Celtics blog Red’s Army has discovered a blog entry written by KG for his Chinese sneaker sponsor, ANTA. ESPN.com also took note of the find.

The blog gives readers an uncensored glimpse into the mind of Kevin Garnett (well, mostly –it is Chinese). While Garnett has been pretty quiet as he works his way back from a calf injury, The Big Ticket updated the blog on Sunday. The blog is the only place where Garnett has commented publically on his injury, saying he’s “Real close” to returning to game action. In his most recent entry, Garnett touched on his progress, as well as commenting the Celtics’ play as of late.

“Friday we had Toronto and young fella Luke [Harangody] played great. He stepped up and had a double double (17 [points] and 11 rebounds). He’s hard working and knows how to play. If he keeps working hard, he’ll be good. It was nice to get the starters some rest and let the young guys play. We won by a bunch, so it was nice. After the game, Dr. looked at my leg and we’re close. Real close to getting back.”

He later wrote “Pregame, I worked out at the arena in the Bull’s workout room. Anytime I get to work out around another team, my gas gets going. I was killing the weights and wanted to play. When I was in there, [former teammate Brian Scalabrine] came in and got me going even more. Good to see him.”

Garnett also commented on Rajon Rondo, Paul Pierce and the frustration he feels watching games like Saturday night’s loss from the bench.
