Michael Vick isn’t going anywhere next season.

According to ESPN, the Eagles will offer Vick the team’s franchise tag in February, ensuring the quarterback remains with the team in 2011.

Should he accept the tag, Vick will make an estimated $20 million — the average salary for the five highest-paid quarterbacks in the league. During his personal record-setting year in 2010, he made $5.25 million. He set career highs in yards passing (3,018), touchdowns passing (21), touchdowns rushing (9), completion percentage (62.6) and passer rating (100.2) and earned his fourth trip to the Pro Bowl in eight seasons.

Backup Kevin Kolb — who began the 2010 season as the Eagles’ starter — was quoted as saying he’d like “to be starting somewhere” in 2011 and is almost certain to be traded this offseason should the Eagles tag Vick.
