Tom Brady didn't waste any time preparing for next season in New England, as the Patriots' quarterback has already undergone surgery to repair the stress fracture in his right foot, just four days after the team's disappointing playoff loss to the New York Jets.

According to CSNNE.com, a source revealed that Brady's surgery was completed around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. The procedure inserted a screw in Brady's navicular bone, which will help prevent a full fracture in the future.

Brady is expected to be fully healthy and ready to go for the Patriots' training camp this summer, according to the source. He may also be able to participate in mini and passing camps this spring.

Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia injured the same bone midway through the 2010 season, and had a similar procedure performed to help heal and prevent further injury to his foot.

Brady's surgery was performed at Massachusetts General Hospital by the same doctors as Pedroia, Dr. Thomas Gill and Dr. George Theodore.
