BOSTON, MA – NESN, New England’s most watched sports network, announced Monday that it has reached a multiyear contract extension with Tom Caron.

The 15-year NESN veteran serves as host of the network’s Red Sox pre and postgame programming along-side baseball Hall of Famers Dennis Eckersley, Jim Rice and Peter Gammons. Caron also hosts many of the network’s Red Sox off-season studio shows including Red Sox Hot Stove Live which airs Tuesday nights at 6:00 p.m. The Lewiston, Maine native also serves as the network’s college hockey play-by-play announcer and blogs regularly at NESN.com.

“Tom leads our Red Sox studio team coverage with trademark smarts, passion and wit,” said Joel Feld, NESN executive vice president, programming and executive producer. “We couldn’t be more excited about starting another baseball season with TC in the driver’s seat.”

“This is the most exciting Red Sox off-season since Theo Epstein had Thanksgiving dinner with the Schillings,” said Caron. “I can’t wait to get the season started. It has been an honor to work alongside some of the best talent and producers in the industry for the past 15 years, at a network that continues to grow and serve the fans of New England. New England is home for me, so I’m thrilled to be staying home and part of the NESN team in the greatest era in New England sports history.”

Caron also serves on the advisory board of Good Sports, a non-profit that provides sporting equipment for inner-city youth programs, and is involved in the work of Mass Mentoring, the MetroWest Food Bank, the Loring Arena Legacy Foundation and Mass Hockey.
