Celtics legend Bill Russell added to his long list of lifetime achievements on Tuesday afternoon when he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. According to the president of the United States, however, there's still one more accolade the president would like Russell to receive.
Barack Obama made it clear that he's hopeful that Russell will someday be immortalized with a statue in Boston.
"I hope one day in the streets of Boston that children will look up to a statue not only of Bill Russell the player, but of Bill Russell the man," Obama said, according to NECN.
