Celtics fans already have the banners and the memories to commemorate their franchise’s 17 titles. Now they’ve got a new way to celebrate their past: shoes.

The C’s are teaming up with adidas for a shoe design contest inspired by past C’s championships.

Between now and the end of May, Celtics fans can go online and design a new mi adidas Superstar II at the company’s online store. One winner will be chosen each month.

Monthly winners will receive their design of the mi adidas Superstar II, and a grand prize winner chosen in May will receive two tickets to a Celtics game along with a meet and greet with center Kendrick Perkins.

"I can’t think of a better way to honor some of the Celtics’ past decades," Perkins said in a press release. "This gives our fans a chance to really get creative in honoring some of the most memorable moments of Celtics history."

Adidas and the Celtics are commemorating a different period in C’s history each month. They celebrated the 1950s in December, focusing on the beginning of Red Auerbach’s career and the arrival of Bill Russell, and the 1960s in January. February focuses on the 1970s, March on the 1980s, and April will be devoted to the team’s championship run in 2008. May will have a broader focus on all 17 Celtic titles.

More information about the contest is available at both the adidas online store and the history section of the Celtics’ official website.
