The Boston Bruins kept the media waiting extra late Tuesday night to announce that a deal had been reached to acquire forward Chris Kelly from Ottawa. Now, the team will have to wait to see him on the ice.
Kelly won’t play Thursday night on Long Island, since the Bruins have yet to acquire the proper immigration approval that is necessary for a non-immigrant to work in the United States.
Kelly will be available to play Friday night, when the B’s are in Ottawa — Kelly’s former team.
Kelly has 12 goals and 11 assists in 57 games played this season for the Senators.
